Understand what SheetCommand does and how your files are handled before using it.

Independent product

SheetCommand is an independent web tool. It is not developed, sponsored, or endorsed by Microsoft and does not claim an official partnership or affiliation.

Microsoft and Excel are trademarks of the Microsoft group of companies. We use those names to describe compatible file formats and educational topics accurately. This site does not use Microsoft's logo or the Excel app icon.

What the tool does

The tool processes the table on the first worksheet of an uploaded XLSX, XLS, or CSV file on the server. Up to six listed cleanup, sorting, summary, percentage-update, and basic calculation steps can run sequentially in one request. For a workbook with two or more sheets, it can exactly match a key on another sheet and add selected values to the first sheet; it does not write VLOOKUP formulas.

The downloaded result does not preserve workbook formulas, macros, charts, formatting, or other worksheets. SheetCommand is not a full Excel or Google Sheets workbook editor. It does not execute Apps Script, VBA, or Office Scripts.

Your files and results

Upload only files that you are entitled to process. Review your organization's rules and the privacy page before uploading confidential or personal information. Keep a copy of the source and review the preview before using a downloaded result.

The download creates a new XLSX file. Reset removes files saved for the current browser session. Take care with session access on shared devices.

Educational guides

Articles about Excel formulas, PivotTables, and Google Apps Script are educational. An article on a topic does not mean the SheetCommand command box can perform it. Each guide explains what the tool can actually do.
